# Install Kanban for this agent

The user shared this link to install the Kanban skill and connect its MCP server.
Complete the setup appropriate to your actual client. Preserve existing skills
and unrelated MCP configuration. This installs a connection; it does not grant
permission to create or change tickets.

## Connection

- Kanban: https://kanban.cadenzai.com
- Remote MCP server: https://kanban.cadenzai.com/mcp
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Preferred authentication: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration
- Skill download: https://kanban.cadenzai.com/skills/kanban-deliver-ticket/SKILL.md
- Create an account: https://kanban.cadenzai.com/signup.html?next=%2Fmcp.html
- Sign in / manage access: https://kanban.cadenzai.com/mcp.html

The setup link is public. It contains no credentials and does not authorize
access to any user's boards. The user must sign in and approve the OAuth request.
If they have no account, the signup link creates an account and private board.

## Install the existing Kanban skill

Use the published `kanban-deliver-ticket` skill below; do not generate a replacement.
It is the existing ticket-to-PR workflow for **Kanban MCP by Cadenzai**.
The CLI alias `kanban` below refers to that server. For its GitHub steps, reuse
an existing GitHub MCP connection or authenticated `gh` installation; report a
missing GitHub connection only when the user requests work that needs it.

Download and read the linked `SKILL.md`. Install those exact contents in the
client's supported skill location. For Codex use
`~/.agents/skills/kanban-deliver-ticket/SKILL.md`; for Claude Code use
`~/.claude/skills/kanban-deliver-ticket/SKILL.md`. If a `kanban-deliver-ticket` skill already exists, compare it
and preserve local customizations; do not silently replace unrelated guidance.
Use the destination environment's filesystem and download tools; this is a text
file, not an executable installer.

## Connect MCP

Inspect the client's existing MCP configuration first. Reuse a `kanban` entry
only when it points to the server above. Preserve any same-named entry for a
different server and use a distinct name for this installation.

### Codex CLI

For a new connection named `kanban`:

```sh
codex mcp add kanban --url https://kanban.cadenzai.com/mcp
codex mcp login kanban
```

Let the user complete the browser login and consent. If the CLI gives a login
URL, show that URL to the user. Reload the session if required to discover the
new server and skill.

### Claude Code

For a new connection named `kanban`:

```sh
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user kanban https://kanban.cadenzai.com/mcp
```

Have the user open `/mcp` in Claude Code and authenticate the Kanban connection.
Reload the session if required to discover the new server and skill.

### Other clients

Use that client's supported skill installer and remote HTTP MCP configuration
with the URL above. If your environment cannot install skills or edit MCP
connections, say which step needs the user to act and give the connection URL.
Do not claim a completed installation. Clients without OAuth support can use a
personal bearer key created by the user at the access-management URL. Store it
with the client's secret handling, not in the skill file or this setup link.

## Verify completion

Verify the skill exists, the configured server uses the expected URL, and MCP
tool discovery succeeds. Call the read-only `list_boards` tool after authorization
and report the board names returned. Do not create a test ticket. Distinguish
installed configuration from authenticated, usable tools. If consent is denied
or authentication fails, report that state instead of retrying indefinitely.
